What’s New in the Trucking Industry?
Western Star's 6900XD Heavy, Heavy Hauler
Not all heavy trucks travel on the highways, and that’s why the team at HDT Truckinginfo were there when Western Star launched its head-turning 6900XD with the MBT-40 option. The 6900 has been around for a long time, however it's not old. It's always been a work in progress and it's now several trucks in one.

Tri State Hosts Our Second School Event for New Diesel Techs
Our 2 hour interactive event this Spring was open to high school and post-secondary school students along with their families, to better explore the opportunities available within the Trucking Industry and at Tri State. The "We Know Trucks." team spoke on a variety of topics including: developing the Tri State business, the growing issue of the lack of a skilled labor force, industry stats (such as if a truck stopped what would happen) and a day in the life of a Tri State diesel tech. Students also experienced a tour of the facility, lunch, a hands on demo and a meet and greet with our new techs and management team. The success of this event has us planning for a fall event in November.
Tri State Truck Center is Tackling the Shortage of Diesel Techs
To begin to address the diesel tech shortage Tri State sponsored a classroom at the Norwood, MA campus of Universal Technical Institute, a provider of post-secondary education for students seeking careers as professional diesel technicians. The goal is to get the "We Know Trucks." team in front of students to let them know the career path they have chosen is important to our nation and the growth path for techs as well as the overall industry is substantial. "Our customers trucks simply can't be down because of the lack of technicians." says Kevin Holmes.
